Biding Time —

Thanks again for all your well wishes and prayers for Larry.

So, there was a lot of misinformation coming from a friend of Julie's who is a Hospice nurse and was pushing her to start hospice while Larry's doctor was taking his Boards. It was an odd situation.

Anyway, for anyone interested in knowing, here's what's going on. The fluid is not malignant. It is the result of a tumor in the ducts to his liver causing problems. His doctor said there wasn't anything to do about it and it would like be his undoing.

He'll probably be "healthy" through the end of the year, then take a turn for the worst. The end may not be until March or so. Until then, no Hospice, just pain management.

We're happy that he seems to have gotten a reprieve from his death sentence, but he's still going to have to endure the pain. That's the thing that's kept him from joining us on the deck.

We're hoping that he'll be back with us before too long.
